Currently, the City of Belleville has an exciting opportunity for highly motivated, strategic, and dynamic individuals to join the City of Belleville as Temporary Administrative Support, in our Temporary Pool. These individuals provide short term assistance in a variety of our departments, on an as needed basis.
Purpose and Scope:
As part of this talent pool, successful applicants can expect to provide coverage as required in various positions which differ in responsibilities, qualifications, and salary. Including, but not limited to: Answering phones, scheduling, providing exceptional customer service, filing, preparing documents, cash-handling etc. Training will be provided for each new position as appropriate. Being adaptable and versatile would be a great asset.
When opportunities do arise, coverage will be assigned based on availability, qualifications, skills and abilities. Vacancies may vary from a minimum of a few days up to a maximum of 160 calendar days per year per the CUPE collective agreement, if assigned to a CUPE role. There are no guarantees of the number of hours/days that may be scheduled and there are no minimum hours required for you to maintain your position as a Temporary Administrative Support.
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 year College Diploma (i.e. Business Administration, Office Administration, Accounting).
- Minimum 2-3 year’s related office experience (i.e., Office Administration, Finance, etc.).
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, prioritization and problem solving skills.
- An ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Cash handling experience is considered an asset.
